History of North Shore Nursery School
North Shore Nursery School is a non-profit early education program founded in 1961. Originally housed in the Unitarian Universalist Church, the school moved into the Community Reformed Church of Manhasset in June of 1993. In 1991, we became one of the first schools on Long Island to achieve accreditation from the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, a division of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). In 2003, we introduced a nondenominational Christian Education component to our curriculum.
North Shore Nursery School has always involved parent participation in their child’s first school experience. Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in classroom activities throughout the year.
We are chartered by the Department of Education and hold a Certificate of Voluntary Registration from the State of New York. All of our head teachers are NYS certified. Our staff is experienced, mature and most of all committed to meeting the needs of all our children. We are dedicated to promoting the highest quality in early childhood education.
We admit students of any race, color, creed and national or ethnic origin.
